Our foundation for our life is based solely on ourselves – how we feel about ourselves and how much we love ourselves. After all, we create our own reality. So if we are lacking in showing ourselves love then it will be a struggle to keep ourselves motivated and driven to do anything – to do better or be better. Its only when we fill ourselves up with love and truly appreciate the amazing being that we are, only then can we really achieve our dreams. Our love for ourselves is what fuels us to create, to inspire, to explore and experience all corners of the world we live in.

Mission Feel Good is all about bring the love back to self. Reminding ourselves that when we do something that feels good we are feeding the love we have for ourselves. When we commit to taking care of ourselves and doing those things (big or small) that bring us joy or happiness we are continually growing the love we have for who we are. The more love and appreciation we have for who we are, the bigger the change we can make to ourselves, to others and to the world.

I have recently been going through depression for a while struggling to give my life purpose and meaning. I found myself feeling so low and down in the dumps that I thought several times about how I wanted to just end it all. Constantly looking outside myself for love and acceptance. Acting like I had it all together but deep down my foundation was very unstable. Whenever I looked outside myself for love and found someone who I thought would love me back, then weeks or a month later it would be gone and I would crumble. And this continued to happen – finding someone to love me, once they did things changed, it didn’t work out and I crumbled again. With each crumbling the hole in soul got bigger and bigger. I was left feeling no love for anyone, not even myself. Its like I had locked myself in a cage, by my own free will and I didn’t even put up a fight.

I realized that I wasn’t committing to my well being, I wasn’t committing to loving myself. Somewhere along the way I was reaching out for love instead of reaching inward. So I decided to create a project to help give my life meaning and purpose. To help remind myself, and others that the love we have for ourselves is the most important thing we can do for ourselves. When we work to create this solid foundation the changes outside of ourselves will no longer make us crumble. After all – true love is indestructible.

Join me in project #MissionFeelGood. Do something every day for 30 days that makes you feel good – or start small with just one day and work your way up to see how many days you can do in a row. Whether it’s riding your bike, dancing, laughing – anything that makes you heart sing and truly makes you appreciate whom you are. I find so often we get caught up in the daily routine of life that we put ourselves at the bottom of our priority list. So start today, and for the next 30 days commit to putting YOU first!
